Electronic Arts (EA) Lagging Behind Activision Blizzard (ATVI)

How is the gaming sector performing post-pandemic? “Social media mentions of consumers playing video games has normalized starting in spring 2021, but they peaked significantly in spring 2020. Specifically, Electronic Arts (EA) has fallen behind competitors like Activision Blizzard (ATVI) and Take-Two Interactive (TTWO). Activision Blizzard has taken a different approach to gaming where they will create engaging and addictive content that will draw gamers in. This will result in microtransactions that make revenue for the company. Is EA Sports geared more towards an older demographic? The ATVI stock price is up almost 10% year-to-date while the EA stock price is down 8% year-to-date,” says LikeFolio’s Andy Swan. Tom White and Kevin Hincks weigh in on classic Electronic Arts (EA) franchises.
