Aside from the core number, the CPI data came in with expectations. "This is what the markets and the Federal Reserve wanted to see. Now, employment reports need to stay consistent and persistent. Then, there may be a pivot from the Fed and not because of the financial sector. They still need to raise interest rates by 25BPS because if they do not, that would be a shock to the markets," says Scott Bauer.
