"Costco (COST) has a strong seasonal period from October 1 to December 1. In this period from 1994 to 2021, Costco produced an average return of 8.7 and was positive 82% of the time. Investors are attracted to Costco at this time as the stock market as the company's relatively stable earnings are attractive as the stock market tends to find its footing at this time of the year. Cameco (CCJ) has a strong seasonal period from October 4 to January 24. Uranium stocks, on average, tend to move higher in the fourth quarter of the year, after the World Nuclear Association meeting that takes place in September. Fundamentally, Cameco is in a good place as environmentalists are increasingly warming up to the idea that nuclear power is a part of a green future. Finally, Microsoft (MSFT) tends to perform well in October, heading into its busiest quarter of the year on a revenue basis. Since 1990, October has been the best month of the year on average. It has produced an average gain of 5.3% and has been positive 72% of the time," says Brooke Thackray.
