United Airlines Reports Strong Results
United Airlines (UAL) shares closed 2.2% higher after the company reported strong earnings. Fourth-quarter revenue came in at $15.4 billion—the highest in the company’s history—while adjusted EPS totaled $3.10. Premium revenue increased 9% year over year as the airline continues to add capacity in key geographic regions that offer higher profit margins. United also plans to take delivery of more than 100 narrow-body Boeing aircraft in 2026.
Halliburton Earnings Confirm Industry Strength
The oilfield services provider reported earnings that far exceeded analyst expectations, posting fourth-quarter revenue of $5.7 billion versus consensus estimates of $5.41 billion, along with adjusted EPS of $0.69 compared to expectations of $0.55. Results were driven by strong international performance, with international revenue rising 7% as tool sales and well-construction activity continued to accelerate. Management also noted the company’s ability to “scale up fairly quickly in Venezuela,” which could support additional revenue growth in the coming years as the energy market refocuses on rebuilding the country’s deteriorated infrastructure.
