U.S. stock futures are mixed ahead of the Wall Street open with tech leading to the downside again.

The moves come after a mixed session on Monday with semiconductor stocks lower and the PHLX Semiconductor Index (SOX) down more than 2%. Chip producers and other AI-related firms are extending their selloff as worries about China’s progress in advanced chipmaking weighs down sentiment.

Investors are bracing for earnings this week with over one-third of S&P 500 companies reporting quarterly results. Those include reports from tech heavyweights including Meta Platforms (META) and Microsoft (MSFT) on Wednesday and Amazon (AMZN) and Apple (AAPL) on Thursday after the close.

The Fed’s rate decision is due Wednesday afternoon. Investors expect that the central bank will remain on hold, but they will look for clarity on the path forward for monetary policy. Oil prices are down again to near $81 a barrel after falling about 8% yesterday amid a pause in fighting between the U.S. and Iran.
