U.S. stock futures are slightly lower in premarket trading after a mixed session on Wednesday saw more rotation out of tech.

President Donald Trump late Wednesday signed into law a funding bill to end the longest federal government shutdown in U.S. history. The measure, which will fund government operations through the end of January, was passed by the House of Representatives Wednesday night in a 222-209 vote.

The Dow Index on Wednesday closed above 48,000 for the first time, putting the 30-stock index on pace for its best weekly performance since late June.

Snapshot (as of 7 AM ET)

  • Oil (/CL) – Oil prices are up 0.7% near $59 a barrel, rebounding from losses in the previous session, as a report showing rising crude inventories in the United States reinforced concerns about global oversupply.
  • Gold (/GC) – Gold prices are up 0.5% near $4235, hitting a more than three-week highs, on expectations that the U.S. government reopening would increase debt levels, while delayed economic data could bolster the case for a Federal Reserve rate cut next month.
  • Bitcoin (/BTC) – The Crypto Future is up 1.5% near 103,400 in premarket trading.
  • VIX – The CBOE Volatility Index rose 1.3% on Wednesday and settled at 17.51 as stocks were mixed.
  • U.S. Dollar (/DX) – The dollar is down 0.2% to 99.2.
