U.S. stock futures are higher in premarket trading, led by tech, as November trading kicks off. Wall Street is coming off a winning session on Friday and solid gains for the month of October, with the S&P 500 (SPX) on a 6-month win streak.

Earnings season continues this week with over 100 S&P 500 companies reporting. More than 60% of the S&P 500 companies have released quarterly results with over 80% beating expectations according to FactSet.

Snapshot (as of 7 AM ET)

  • Oil (/CL) – Oil prices are down 0.1% near $61 a barrel, despite news that OPEC+ plans to end its supply increases, with the market weighed down by fears of an oil supply glut and weak factory data in Asia.
  • Gold (/GC) – Gold prices are up 0.6% near $4015, helped by expectations of further U.S. interest rate cuts after comments from the U.S. Federal Reserve Board’s Christopher Waller, though a stronger dollar and easing trade tensions kept gains in check.
  • Bitcoin (/BTC) – The Crypto Future is down 1.6% near 108,200 in premarket trading.
  • VIX – The CBOE Volatility Index rose 3% on Friday and settled at 17.44 despite stocks finishing higher.
  • U.S. Dollar (/DX) – The dollar is flat at 99.7.
