U.S. Stock Futures Lower as Oil Prices Rally

U.S. stock futures are lower in premarket trading as oil prices rallied on an escalation of fighting in the Middle East.
Crude prices are up over 2% near $94 a barrel and hit three-month highs overnight with Iran and the U.S. exchanging strikes over the weekend. Yields are also moving slightly higher this morning with the benchmark 10-Year near 4.8%.
The moves come ahead of next week’s FOMC meeting with a near 60% probability of a 25-basis-point rate hike, according to the CME FedWatch tool. With little economic data due today, investor focus will be on geopolitical tensions, oil prices, and yields ahead of PPI and CPI inflation data due later this week.
