U.S. stock futures are slightly lower in premarket trading as investors await critical economic data and another batch of earnings reports following a volatile week that ended with the Dow Jones Industrial Average at record highs.

The equity moves come after the major indices rebounded Friday following major losses suffered earlier in the week. Investor focus will be on economic data and more earnings this week.

On Wednesday, investors will be watching for the delayed January jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The release was initially scheduled for last Friday but was postponed due to the partial government shutdown. The January consumer price index reading is due on Friday after also being slightly delayed.

Snapshot (as of 7 AM ET)

  • Oil (/CL) – Oil prices are flat at $63.60 a barrel after Iran and U.S. representatives held talks on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program. Iran and the United States held negotiations via Omani mediation on Friday to try to overcome sharp differences over Tehran’s nuclear program.
  • Gold (/GC) – Gold Futures are up 1.2% near $5040 helped by market uncertainty, a slightly weaker dollar and lingering concerns over U.S.-Iran talks in Oman, while Silver (/SI) recovered from a 1-1/2-month low.
  • Bitcoin (/BTC) – The Crypto Future is down 1.7% near 69,000 in premarket trading. Bitcoin Futures rebounded over 11% on Friday after it hit its lowest level since October of 2024 on Thursday at 60K.
