The Jackson Hole Economic Symposium that begins on Thursday puts inflation and rates in focus.

This three-day summit, hosted by the Kansas City Federal Reserve, brings together key figures in central banking, government, and academia to discuss major economic issues, and could provide crucial information about the Federal Reserve’s view on whether or not rate hikes should happen.

The week also brings many notable pieces of economic data, including job and GDP data. On the earnings front, Nvidia (NVDA) is the biggest name, with results in Wednesday’s postmarket session. Another major semiconductor name, Marvell Technology (MRLV), reports after Thursday’s close. A number of discount retailers report results, including Dollar General (DG), Dollar Tree (DLTR), and Burlington Stores (BURL). Software companies reporting include Intuit (INTU), Salesforce (CRM), and Workday (WDAY).
