Markets are closed for the Labor Day holiday Monday, but traders can look toward notable pieces of economic data later in the week.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) is slated for Thursday, Sept. 10 and the Producer Price Index (PPI) on Friday, Sept. 11 could give further clarity about the effects of inflation for Americans, as well as a window into the prospects of interest rate changes.

Earnings are relatively light this week with quarterly results expected from Oracle (ORCL), Adobe (ADBE), Kroger (KR), GameStop (GME), and Casey’s General Stores (CASY).

Apple (AAPL) is expected to launch new iPhone models and other products at its "Surprise and Shine" event at 1 PM ET Wednesday, September 9.
