$1.2T for M&A on a ‘Stopwatch’: What Deals May Come

Dena Jalbert gives the outlook for M&A. She says lenders are having difficulty quantifying growth, making them more hesitant to support deals and leaving cash on the sidelines. Roughly $1.2 trillion has been raised in the private markets that’s looking to be deployed, she adds. “There’s usually a 50% leverage,” she notes, and that money has to be “deployed in a specific amount of time.” She thinks industrials and healthcare in particular will see investment. The biggest challenge she sees is uncertainty.
