There are $1.5T worth of commercial real estate loans maturing in 2025, and higher interest rates are putting pressure on the payers, says Greg Friedman. He thinks owners will sell properties rather than refinance because it would require liquidity they don’t currently possess. He points out that many of the commercial real estate debt holders are regional banks, which have seen difficulties earlier this year.
