The FOMC announcement is a 2pm ET today. Cameron Dawson discusses what to expect from the Fed today, as well as the chances the Fed indicates further rate hikes. She notes that the Fed is no longer forecasting a recession and now talking about a “golden path” as it takes a victory lap on inflation, Yellen saying high confidence a recession can be avoided, credit spreads at the lows of the year, equities trading at 19x 2024 EPS forecasted to grow +12%..... all point to benign soft landing as being the consensus. Cameron then looks at the U.S Misery Index which is current inflation rate plus unemployment rate. She also highlights that the CME FedWatch has the September meeting at a 99% chance of no hike.
