The Jackson Hole economic symposium begins today and Jerome Powell speaks tomorrow at Jackson Hole. Peter Tchir discusses this, as well as the U.S. jobless claims for the Week of August 19th. The actual number came in at 230K versus a forecasted 240K. He goes over what to expect from Jerome Powell's speech. He then looks at the Chinese economy. He notes that the Chinese economy is struggling. He highlights that the Chinese consumer has not learned how to consumer like the U.S. consumer, though, to be honest, no one consumes like the Average American does.
