China's Soybean Demand & the Outlook for Agricultural Commodities

Sal Gilbertie weighs in on the grains market as U.S.-China trade ties are repaired. He examines the soybean market saying China is by far the largest soybean buyer, but says global soybean demand keeps going up for chicken feed, biofuel and other markets are buying as well. Sal says Brazil is a competing soybean exporter, but notes that "there aren't enough soy beans in the world" to exclude U.S. exports as well. He adds that the soybean trade is a great way to diversify a portfolio, saying surprises are more likely to the upside than the downside over the next several months.
