Michelle Gibley discusses international interest rate decisions after the Fed cut interest rates by 50-basis points. The Bank of Japan makes their decision tonight and Michelle says that while they are unlikely to hike now, they aren’t finished raising their rates. Japan’s current rate is 0.25%, which she calls very accommodative and “still negative in real terms.” She also discusses how rate changes affect the dollar-yen trade.
