End of U.S. Exceptionalism a ‘False Narrative’, DOGE ‘Hoopla’ Masks Spending Rise

Jeffrey Cleveland expects the Fed to “appear hawkish.” If Powell “talks through” the recent economic data and says he still sees strength, he thinks it will soothe the market. He calls the idea that American exceptionalism is ending a “false narrative” because nothing has changed fundamentally. He also notes that despite the DOGE “hoopla”, we “have not really cut spending as much as people think.”
