It's been a year since Disney announced the return of Bob Iger. "It's definitely been tumultuous for Disney," says Jamie Lumley, "and the business seems to have come to a fork in the road" between streaming and legacy linear businesses. Jamie notes that Disney+ gained around 7M subscribers worldwide in its last earnings quarter, but it still isn't profitable. He adds that on the studio side, Disney has struggled with box office hits, which are also part of the content draw for streaming. On the others hand, Disney's parks are doing well, and the company has committed to investing in them.
