Stock Market Today: CSCO Weakness & FDX, FOXA Strength

The Dow Jones, Russell 2000, S&P 500, and Nasdaq-100 all ended in the red today, along with all eleven S&P 500 sectors. Cisco (CSCO) shares closed down nearly 4% after agreeing to acquire Splunk (SPLK) for $157 per share in cash, which values the company at $28B. FedEx (FDX) shares closed up after earnings came in better than expected, although revenues missed some estimates. Fox Corp. (FOXA) shares closed up after Rupert Murdoch steps down as Chairman at both Fox Corp. and News Corp. after a seven-decade career.
