Commission labels six tech giants, including Amazon (AMZN), Alphabet (GOOGL), Apple (AAPL), Microsoft (MSFT), Meta Platforms (META), and ByteDance, as “gatekeepers” under new “Digital Markets Act.” The E.U. Commission definition of “gatekeepers” is massive internet platforms that restrict access to online search, advertising, and messaging. Gatekeepers will have six months to bring core platform services in compliance with new E.U. regulations.
