David Lee, COO & CFO of Webtoon (WBTN), discusses the online comic business. He notes that most of the creators working on their platform have other full-time jobs. However, webcomics are increasingly being turned into movies, he adds. Gen Z consumers are a big part of their audience, and David attributes Webtoon’s success to its vertical digital format. “This thing ports really well” across mediums and languages, David says, offering them worldwide access.
